Series E or EE US Savings Bonds
If you own Series E or EE US Savings Bonds, your ability to trade these bonds tax deferred will expire on August 31, 2004.
After August 31 you will not be able to trade in these bonds for Series HH Bonds because the US Treasury Department will not issue any more HHs. As a result, you have up to August 31 to convert them without having to recognize the accrued interest.
